About this role:
The Community Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an assigned residential property, ensuring tenant satisfaction, property upkeep, and smooth coordination with site staff and contractors. This hands-on role involves responding promptly to tenant requests, maintaining a high standard of building cleanliness and safety, and ensuring compliance with BCFSA guidelines. The Community Manager also represents WPM at site meetings, community events, and tours, acting as the face of the company within their assigned communities.
This role includes team leadership and collaboration, managing and mentoring on-site teams such as maintenance, cleaning, security, and weekend staff. The Community Manager works closely with internal departments and vendors to ensure efficient property operations, supports onboarding and performance management, and promotes a positive tenant experience through effective communication and fair administration of tenancy agreements under the Residential Tenancy Act.
In the property management function, the Community Manager actively monitors building systems and suite conditions, oversees inspections, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and insurance standards. They coordinate capital improvement projects within approved budgets, manage receivables and legal documentation, and are available for after-hours emergencies. Overall, the role blends operational execution, leadership, and tenant engagement to support WPM’s commitment to well-managed, resident-focused communities.
About the candidate:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with financial acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to remain focused under pressure. The role requires someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-service driven, with the ability to market suites effectively and handle day-to-day operational needs. A satisfactory criminal record check is also required due to the residential setting.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to manage teams and vendors, and a working knowledge of building operations, safety standards, and applicable legislation such as the Residential Tenancy Act. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and experience with platforms like Yardi Voyager and PayScan are strong assets. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, and the physical ability to manage on-site tasks - including walking, lifting, and working in varying conditions - is essential. A background in hospitality or fluency in a second language would also be beneficial.
Compensation & Benefits:
This role comes with a competitive base salary in the range of CAD $85,000-95,000, along with a discretionary bonus, extended health and dental benefits, 3 weeks of paid vacation, RRSP matching program, and a health or wellness spending account.
