Role Description
The Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist role is a full-time/ part-time on-site position located in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will responsible for:
Clinical Support: Coordinate with health professionals to facilitate patient encounters, manage community referrals, and provide comprehensive administrative support before, during, and after visits.
Patient Coordination: Manage the check-in process, oversee appointment scheduling, and handle high-volume phone inquiries with professionalism.
Communication & Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between patients, internal medical staff, and external referring offices to ensure seamless information flow.
Office Operations: Maintain an organized, welcoming front-desk environment while performing essential clerical tasks to ensure efficient daily operations. al will handle day-to-day office tasks such as managing phone communication with proper etiquette, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with administrative duties. The role serves as the first point of contact for patients and ensures the smooth operation of the medical office by providing excellent organizational and interpersonal support.
Qualifications
- Educational Excellence: Completion of an accredited Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program or a degree in Health Administration; a strong academic record is highly valued.
- Clinical Expertise: Proven experience in a fast-paced medical environment with a deep understanding of medical terminology and complex clinical workflows.
- Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and the ability to troubleshoot digital administrative tools to optimize office efficiency.
- Strategic Problem-Solving: A track record of taking initiative to resolve scheduling conflicts, patient concerns, and logistical hurdles independently.
- Elite Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive patient interactions and maintain high-level professional relationships with external stakeholders.
- Organizational Command: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities without compromising the quality of patient care or data integrity.
