Our Syncrude Finance team is seeking a new team member who can translate complex information into validated insights and solutions. You'll have the opportunity to influence change while providing performance analysis, stewardship, and business planning to help drive cost and finance process improvement. Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant financial & analytical experience
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, economics, or other relevant education
  • A recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with SAP and Microsoft tools including Power BI
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven success in business partnering outside of finance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Build monthly performance analysis, stewardship reporting, and support for key financial processes
  • Maintain & drive improvements in Power BI reporting
  • Guide the business through month-end results, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Help coach cost center owners in understanding their role and the use of the financial information and performance metrics
  • Develop an understanding of overall financial picture and key business drivers and challenges across the business
  • Steward financial progress on discrete programs and initiatives
  • Identify and participate in performance improvement projects and develop key metrics

Location and other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
