Our large Engineering client is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their team in supporting complex, capital-driven projects by managing the procurement of engineered equipment and systems from bid initiation through subcontract close-out. This role is well-suited for a procurement professional with strong experience in manufacturing and project-based environments, who thrives in structured processes, cross-functional collaboration, and supplier relationship management. Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end bid and award process, including supplier prequalification, RFP preparation, bid coordination, evaluations, negotiations, and recommendations for award.
- Prepare, review, and issue procurement and subcontract documentation, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, commercial terms, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage subcontract administration post-award, including change management related to cost, scope, and schedule.
- Monitor supplier performance through progress tracking, meetings, expediting of deliverables, and performance management activities.
- Approve milestone payments and administer supplier claims, ensuring contractual deliverables and approvals are met prior to payment.
- Execute subcontract close-out activities and maintain accurate procurement registers, documentation, and project records.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in project-based environments, with strong preference for manufacturing or engineered equipment industries.
- Proven experience establishing and managing multi-million-dollar subcontracts for products manufactured to detailed specifications.
- Strong negotiation, commercial evaluation, and contract administration skills across the full procurement lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, track milestones and deliverables, and resolve issues collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong customer service, diplomacy, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Finance, or Law; professional procurement certification (e.g., SCMP, PMAC, APICS/CPIM, P.Log) is an asset.
Pay: $40 - $55 per/hour (depending on incorporation)
5 days on site in North Vancouver, BC
