Hiring: Senior Project Manager/ Leader (Healthcare)
Location: Toronto, Hybrid (Up to 3 days onsite per week)
Duration: January 5, 2026 – November 30, 2025
Hourly Rate: Competitive based on experience
Client: (Public Sector Healthcare Organization)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of PCCG (Provincial Care Coordination Gateway) project to ensure delivery of project is on time, in scope and within budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with agile project management methodologies and frameworks
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders; handle client relationships to manage expectations
- Gather and develop requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
- Proactively identify potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed; identify potential conflicts between project and functional areas
- Articulate and prioritize issues and risks and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers
- Facilitate training of end-users and distribution of materials and job aids; develop documents and support materials as required
- Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects – concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out
- Ensure pre-Go-live readiness: technical, configuration, workflow modifications
- Provide go-live, troubleshooting and first 72 hours ‘Warranty’ support pilot sites; facilitate transition to Operations
- Develop project status reports, deployment reporting/tracking and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs for stakeholders
- Update and monitor project document repository within MS Teams to ensure all documents are developed, reviewed and maintained in the repository
Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts in managing electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems (e.g. project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning and quality management)
- 7+ years’ experience Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
- 7+ years’ experience with vendor management; ability to balance competing priorities to maintain good vendor relationships while hold them accountable to project deliverables
- 7+ years’ experience ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
- Experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts (e.g. project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning and quality management)
- Collaboration, coordinating tasks, and ensuring that everybody works together effectively, this also involves conflict resolution
- Experience managing integration projects leveraging HL7 (Health Level Seven) and FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows and associated business processes
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certifications: Project Management Professional; Knowledge and understanding of Project Management’s Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge
- Demonstrated project management software skills and experience e.g. MS Project, MS Teams etc.
- College/University undergraduate degree in Health, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience – desired
- Experience managing integration projects with electronic health records (EHR) and other Healthcare Information Systems used throughout the province of Ontario
- Experience managing technical integration projects involving HL7 v2, FHIR, and other APIs.
- Experience working with agile product teams including with software development, product management and quality assurance team members.
- Experience with health system business implementation and deployment projects
- Proven track record working with health care professionals; direct clinical data experience or experience working with clinicians would be an asset
- Experience in liaising with customers/stakeholders where customer service was a key focus to responding to queries, issues/risk management, etc.
- Relationship building, facilitation and influencing skills to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to readily identify, assess and mitigate implementation and adoption issues
- Experience with and/or knowledge of change management, workflow analysis and redesign, business process integration, and/or evaluation/quality improvement, preferably in the health sector
- Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures
- Working knowledge of privacy policies and legislative processes – Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and associated Health Information Custodian (HIC) requirements is an asset
