We are currently seeking an Underwriting Operational Support Specialist I – Personal Lines to join our team in Winnipeg. In this role, you will provide underwriting and claims support for Personal Lines Property & Casualty operations across Canada. Working with minimal supervision, you will contribute to operational excellence by processing broker requests, supporting business initiatives, and ensuring service-level targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting support for Personal Lines insurance products by processing broker requests and policy transactions.
- Respond to inquiries and communicate decisions in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and procedures.
- Support internal business partners with evolving operational needs.
- Assist with strategic initiatives, system enhancements, incident management, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and system-related issues.
- Meet productivity and service-level targets while managing multiple priorities.
- Participate in team meetings, cross-functional discussions, and collaborative projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and company updates.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work performed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience.
- Experience in Personal Lines insurance is preferred.
- CIP designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Bilingual English/French is considered an asset.
