The Claims Examiner will be experienced in claims examining, including monitoring claims in legal proceedings, negotiating, and settling claims, communicating with other subscribing insurers.   • Directing, adjusting and examining all varieties of MGA claims including Commercial Property, Casualty, Cargo, and Equipment Breakdown.
  • Investigating claims as assigned within authority and provide control and direction to adjusters, vendors, and solicitors to ensure adjusting standards and litigation protocols are adhered to.
  • Demonstrating extensive knowledge of insurance coverages, claims handling procedures, investigation methods, and negotiation tactics.
  • Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external contacts including MGA partners and underwriters.

To join our team:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial claims experience is required.
  • Experience handing Casualty Claims (Bodily Injury, General Liability, Third Party Property Damage) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Policy Wordings and Claims Handling procedures.
  • CIP/FCIP designation is an asset.

  • You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
  • This position will operate on a hybrid work posture which will require an in-office presence of at least twice a week.
  • Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  • You may provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.

Expected salary/hourly range $60,574 - $100,956 The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education. Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
