The Impact of This Role
At SmartD, we value individual initiative and technical execution. In this position, you will:
- Drive Disruption: Directly contribute to the industrialization and optimization of our next-generation Silicon Carbide-based VFDs.
- Enable Sustainability: Play a key role in building a product that significantly reduces global industrial energy consumption.
- Lead Technical Outcomes: Take ownership of the coordination of ECOs, SCARs, and NPI processes between SmartD and our contract manufacturing partners, seeing your work go from the lab to a finished product used in the real world.
What You Bring
- Technical Expertise:
- Electronics manufacturing process design and optimization;
- Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects;
- Production flow design and workstation layout;
- New Product Introduction (NPI), including with contract manufacturers;
- ECO and SCAR management;
- In-process and supplier non-conformance resolution;
- Process capability measurement and analysis (Cpk);
- Working knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001);
- Ability to read CAD drawings and electronic schematics;
- Ability to develop processes, systems and dashboards designed to scale into a future ERP environment;
- Familiarity with automated test set development and/or SQL is an asset.
- Experience: 3–6 years of experience in electronics manufacturing process engineering (mandatory); experience working with contract manufacturers (preferred).
- Language: Professional English is required for international collaboration; French is an asset for our Montreal-based operations.

Our Hiring Process
