OverviewApprentice ElectricianLocation:Department:Employment Type: Full-Time About The Opportunity Shermco Canada is seeking a motivated and safety minded Journeyperson Electrician to join our Saskatchewan Electrical Services team in Regina. Our Electrical Services team provides electrical construction, maintenance, and specialty services and solutions to our many clients in industrial sectors such as Utility, Mining, Oil & Gas, Technology and many more. Responsibilities

  • Construct, alter, repair, and test all electrical components that are integral to the operations of industrial activities and electrical systems.
  • Install new and maintain low, medium, and high voltage equipment.
  • Work in industrial work settings and environments.
  • Work around energized power and control equipment.
  • Effectively instruct, mentor and coach electrical apprentices and team members to support safe and efficient job/task execution.
  • Determine appropriate selection of materials.
  • Determine appropriate application of installations and ensure Canadian Electrical Code compliance.
  • Keep construction, maintenance, and quality documentation.
  • Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform all duties to a level of competency, normally expected of a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Take part and engage in Shermco Proactive Safety Reporting and leading indicators.
  • Engage in client field audit/inspection activities.
  • Will be responsible to become familiar with, abide by, and to administer the Shermco Health, Personnel and Safety policies.
  • Will adhere to Shermco’s Alcohol and Drug Policy as defined; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial setting considered an asset.
  • Industrial facility safe work qualifications/training considered asset.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and able to maintain a clean abstract.
  • Available for out-of-town work based on varying project requirements.
