Job DescriptionGreat opportunity to maintain your work/life balance and no overhead! Access Winnipeg West is seeking a Family Physician in a 0.5 to 0.6 EFT opportunity. The centre is located at 280 Booth Drive and attached to the Grace Hospital. The clinic has 20 accessible exam rooms (including a minor procedure space), office space and many other amenities and services that are unique to an Access Centre model. We work together with other programs in our facility and within the community such as Community Mental Health, Employment and Income Assistance, Home Care and we also have our Community Facilitators who can help connect to other community resources and provide updates about things happening in our area. Our partnership with the Grace Hospital has allowed us to access lab services and diagnostic services. Our team is comprised of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Nurses, Primary Care Assistants and Allied Health, which includes Psychology, Shared Care Counselor (access to adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietitian, Pharmacy, Midwifery and of course our learners from various disciplines. Job Title: Primary Care Physician Location: ACCESS Winnipeg West (Primary Care) Job Type: Standard Application Job Description The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Primary Care Program is seeking a Primary Care Physician (0.7 FTE) to join Access Winnipeg West. The Primary Care Physicians will provide medical services consistent with the principles of primary health care as follows: Comprehensive Services, Possibly Including But Not Limited To:
- All ages & stages of the life cycle
- May participate in activities that support a population health focus, i.e., resource to the community
- Administrative activities including professional committee involvement, chart audits & implementation of audit recommendations
- The practice opportunity includes obstetrical care, house calls, minor surgical procedures, psychotherapy, e.g. solution-focused therapy, supportive etc., health promotion, disease prevention, intervention for acute and chronic illness, restorative or rehabilitative care and addictions medicine
- Broadening of group practice expertise and skill development to permit in-practice referrals
Accessibility to services
- Weekend & evening extended office hours (as agreed upon by both parties)
- Weekend and evening on call
- Telephone coverage for patients, families and other health & service providers
Interdisciplinary practice
- Provide coordinated services within interdisciplinary team
- Transfer of functions to primary health nurses (when appropriate and agreed upon formally)
Teaching & preceptorship
- Clinical practicum for family medicine students and residents and other health professionals
- Teaching initiatives for multidisciplinary team
- Elective courses for medical students and residents
Research and Quality Improvement
- Facilitate, support or participate in practice-based research
- May participate in the development of discipline specific and multidisciplinary practice standards, protocols, and care paths etc.
Qualifications** :**
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
- CCFP certified or equivalent
