Our client is a leading law firm in the downtown Ottawa area. They offer a broad spectrum of legal services and are located in a modern building with excellent amenities.

They are looking for a Bookkeeper/Administrator to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of a reputable law firm. This position is in-person and will involve a combination of bookkeeping responsibilities and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and financial skills, as well as a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

**Must have experience using PCLaw and Bookkeeping in a legal environment**Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments and invoicing.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial records regularly.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist in budget planning and expense tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Greet clients and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and packages.
  • Maintain and organize legal documents, records, and case files.
  • Assist with filing, data entry, and other clerical tasks.
  • Monitor and order office supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure the office runs efficiently.

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial management, preferably in a law office or legal environment.
  • Proficiency in PCLAW accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
