Date Posted March 10, 2026 Division Book Fairs Position Type Full Time Location: Surrey, BC An opening exists in the Book Fairs Division for the position of Distribution Manager reporting to the Director of Branch Operations. The salary range being offered for this role is $85,000-$95,000. Work Location: This position works out of our Surrey branch located at 2468 192 St Surrey, BC. Role Summary The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing all facets of the branch operational business, ensuring efficient and cost-effective distribution, and labour management. In partnership with all divisional teams, provide directive and branch insight to ensure efficient Customer fulfillment, and optimal performance. Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide and support branch employees while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for overseeing the progress of the team, ensuring that employees feel valued and motivated in their roles.
  • Recruit, train and provide guidance to all branch staff ensuring awareness of Company policies and procedures, with a key focus on health and safety.
  • Encourage and maintain cooperative relationships with staff and all divisional leaders/teams, as it pertains to branch insight and business volumes.
  • In collaboration with divisional leadership, establish yearly operating budgets, quarterly business reforecasts, and financial branch performance analysis.
  • Monitor business volumes to ensure all aspects of fulfillment are handled on time, correctly and cost-effectively.
  • Engage in ongoing self-reflection and continue to advance knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Recognizes diversity and inclusion as an important aspect of the work environment by supporting new ideas and different perspectives, promoting cross-cultural awareness, and creating a safe environment for difficult conversations.
  • Determine cost effective logistics agreements, planning and shipping methods for branch territories.
  • Participate in head office/Sales meetings to review business volumes and provide operational insight, as needed.
  • Provide support, input and direction into the operational growth and performance of Scholastic Book Fairs by participating in management calls, meetings and attending annual divisional conferences.
  • Participate in other duties and special projects as required to support the business.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education.
  • 5-7 years of progressive Distribution experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Salesforce (or similar CRM system), an asset
  • Knowledge of Oracle Transportation or similar, an asset
  • Flexibility to travel when necessary.
