Job ID: 26-01513 Job Title: Cybersecurity Consultant Location: Regina, Saskatchewan, CAN (On-Site) Duration: 12 Months (with Possible extension) Client: Public Sector Pay Rate: $80/hr - $90/hr (CAD) Role and Responsibilities The ideal candidate is an accomplished cybersecurity leader with extensive expertise in security architecture and a proven ability to think strategically. The candidate will bring a demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, resilient security frameworks across distributed environments, while guiding multi-year planning efforts into actionable strategies which align with government priorities, long-term business objectives, and risk management priorities. The candidate shall be adept at bridging technical and executive domains and able to translate risks into actionable insights and foster collaboration across the public sector to help shape a centralized cybersecurity vision. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Providing interpretation and enforcement of the information security policy and standards.
- Providing information security, education and awareness.
- Responding to information security Incidents.
- Performing Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) for IT-related business initiatives throughout Government.
- Providing security assessment and overall security requirements for IT-related Solution and Services Procurements.
- Providing information security advice and guidance for business areas and evaluating new threats and vulnerabilities.
Mandatory Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in IM/IT.
- A bachelor’s degree in technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is considered an asset.
- Architecture-related certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, or other industry-recognized credentials are considered an asset.
- Completion of at least one formal project management course is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity strategic planning, governance, and risk management.
- Demonstrated experience in solutions architecture, cybersecurity architecture, and IT design.
- Proven experience providing cybersecurity strategies and advisory services, including risk management, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and technology assessments.
- Demonstrated experience acting as a lead architect or owning major subsystems, using formal IT methodologies and standard information security control frameworks, with solutions successfully implemented.
- Proven experience designing and implementing cybersecurity architectures in complex, distributed enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders to gain alignment and approval for security initiatives.
- Experience preparing and delivering executive briefings, vision documents, and strategic cybersecurity roadmaps to support security maturity.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with industry-standard security frameworks such as ISO 27002:2022, NIST, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps practices and automation supporting enterprise application development and deployment.
- Proven experience in the strategy, architecture, and implementation of Zero Trust cybersecurity models.
- Formal training in a recognized IT design methodology, with practical experience applying it in solution design engagements.
- Demonstrated expertise across multiple projects in architecting enterprise solutions, incorporating current industry trends such as system integrations, data management, and technical governance.
