Profile: The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting, and will also work closely with the Director of Finance. This would be a great role for a senior associate at an accounting firm looking to transition into an industry role, or for someone already working in industry with experience in accounting and financial reporting, ideally at a publicly traded company.
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting, duties/responsibilities include:
· Preparation of the consolidation
· Preparation of financial statement working papers
· Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
· Preparation of quarterly and annual MD&As
· Assist in the review of financial information as reported by the Company’s subsidiaries in Chile, Peru and the Cayman Islands
· Assist in advising team members at subsidiaries on the financial impact of potential transactions
· Participate in the annual audit process for year-end audit and quarterly reviews
· Prepare and send out weekly cash report
· Full cycle accounting for Canadian entity in SAP S4/HANA
· A/P management and general banking support
· Processing of Canadian invoices and maintenance of vendor master information
· Accounting for stock option and RSU exercises, as well as assistance in administration of exercises
· Quarterly Statistics Canada mandatory survey – reporting of FS balances, as well as any other Stats Canada surveys that Rio2 is obligated to participate in
· File quarterly GST returns
· Take part in special projects and other duties as required
Working location
· 100% remote from home office, trips to the downtown Vancouver business district may be occasionally required (approximately 1 time a month for meetings with coworkers, auditors, AGM, etc.)
· Possible travel to Lima, Peru and/or Copiapó and Santiago, Chile
· Reasonable home office expenses reimbursed (printing supplies, etc.)
Compensation and benefits:
· Reasonable professional development expenses reimbursed
· 4 weeks vacation annually

· $90k – 100k annual salary, depending on experience
Qualifications:
· Canadian CPA
· Public company reporting experience
· Strong knowledge and understanding of IFRS
· Larger firm experience preferable
· Spanish language skills a plus or willingness to take Spanish lessons
· Experience working with SAP S4/HANA is a plus but not required
