Job DescriptionRESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS). Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the laboratory supervisor of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) Technical Platforms, the incumbent is responsible for processing the samples in compliance with standard operating procedures. General Duties
- Perform specimen processing such as centrifugation, alliquoting, and other laboratory techniques according to specifications of procedures according to established methodology specified in the lab manual and protocol of clinical trials,
- Perform storage of specimens for different studies in freezers and fridges,
- Ensure that every specimen is correctly identified by manual labels and/or computerized bar code labels,
- Review study laboratory related documents, Record information according to study requirements, Maintain records and files,
- Maintain all necessary training in order to perform and specimen processing,
- Perform other related work as requested by the Laboratory Supervisor and Technical Platforms Manager.

- Advanced knowledge of oral and written French is required.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- IATA certification is an asset,
- Familiarity with computers,
- Self-directed and organized, Able to work both independently,
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
Additional information Status : Part-time, occasional Pay Scale: $23.40-$35.12. Commensurate with education and experience. Work Shift: Primarily evening, and occasional daytime or night time. Schedule will vary depending on the person’s availability and the needs of the lab.
