Controller

Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead the finance function of a dynamic and growing manufacturing company. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including transaction accuracy, tax compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be a CPA-designated professional with a strong background in Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit processes. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate posting of financial transactions
• Prepare GST returns and manage source deduction remittances
• Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Provide financial reports and insights to support strategic decision-making
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to promote growth and accountability
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and financial statements

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation or in final stages of completion
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles
• Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, including GST and payroll deductions
• Experience collaborating with external auditors; background in public practice or audit is an asset
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
• Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is an advantage
