PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Cultural Liaison will play a key role in advancing Radiance Family Society’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives by building bridges between the organization and diverse cultural communities. This position will serve as a trusted advisor and connector, ensuring that programs, services, and communications are inclusive, culturally responsive, and reflective of the communities Radiance serves.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
• Act as a bridge between Radiance and culturally diverse communities, fostering mutual understanding, trust, and collaboration.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with community leaders, elders, cultural associations, and service providers.
• Promote Radiance’s programs and initiatives in culturally appropriate ways, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
• Provide guidance to staff and leadership on cultural protocols, traditions, and sensitivities.
• Support the development and delivery of cultural awareness training for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cultural learning and integration into organizational practices.
• Collaborate with program teams to ensure services are tailored to meet the needs of diverse populations.
• Contribute to the co-design of culturally responsive programming that aligns with Radiance’s DEI goals.
• Provide input into policies, procedures, and communication strategies to ensure cultural inclusivity.
• Advocate for equitable access to services for marginalized and newcomer communities.
• Represent Radiance at cultural events, community meetings, and stakeholder forums.
• Elevate the voices and perspectives of underrepresented groups in decision-making processes.
• Other additional duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Post-secondary education in related field.
• Strong knowledge of cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
• Lived experience and/or deep familiarity with immigrant, refugee, or ethnocultural communities.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Ability to build trust, navigate sensitive topics, and mediate cross-cultural misunderstandings.
• Fluency in more than one language is considered a strong asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

•Clear Police Security Check & Vulnerable Sector Check maintained.
•Ensure all agency required trainings are maintained.
•Standing, bending, crouching, and lifting required.
