Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Saskatoon, SK, for a Senior Electrical Engineer. Working within the Battery Powered Electric Vehicle Department, the Electrical Engineer acts as a technical resource to the Electrical Engineering Supervisor for any electrical issues as part of the project design and evaluation process. The Electrical Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable, cost-effective solutions for all electrical technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application
- Minimize development costs by accurately and efficiently translating customer application requirements into functional and design engineering specifications
- Articulate technology and product information to external customers, business and technical users
- Provide technical support for RFQs and RFPs
- Provide design and specification development support to Production Engineering and Sales
- Develop product design specifications (PDS)
- Design critical components and lead component selection
- Design and develop software
- Develop factory and site acceptance tests (FAT & SAT)
- Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, and training services
- Assist in the design and development of new products and tools as required
Qualifications
- B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering
- 3–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, mining or similar environment
- Must be a Professional Engineer or registered with APEGS
- Must hold a valid Saskatchewan class 5 driver’s licence
- Experience in working within an Autodesk environment (Vault)
- Experience working with PLC & HMI solutions
- Ability to develop software in C, C#, Python, as well as experience with web development
- Familiarity with Relational Databases and SQL
- Working knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems an asset
