As a Project Accountant with Pomerleau's Construction Finance team, you will be responsible for the accounting (payables and receivables) for one or more large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with several teams, including the project team and the accounting teams. ReceivablesWhat you will do
- Prepare payment requests (including subcontractor payment requests, supplier invoices, Pom employee timesheets, Pom general expenses, and other project expenses approved by the GP), bridge all project payable expenses with client invoicing, and ensure timely submission to the client.
- Verify the allocation of budgetary phases of invoices with the GP.
- Collect customer payments according to contract payment terms.
- Provide receipts or other contractual documents required by the client.
- Monitor change notices and ensure billing.
- Record receipts in the computer system.
- Ensure that invoicing does not exceed the budgets specified in the statements.
- Send client deposit confirmations to managers every month.
Payables
- Process project supplier invoices, i.e., match purchase orders, delivery notes, verify them, and enter them into the computer system.
- Process subcontractor statements for the project in the accounting system, ensuring that required contractual documents are received and updated as required.
- Obtain required documents (receipts, legal documents) before processing subcontractor and supplier payments.
- Obtain all discounts granted by subcontractors or suppliers.
- Make payments promptly (according to contractual deadlines).
- Maintain an updated receipts table.
This role could be for you if you have
- An AEC, DEP, or DEC in accounting and management.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting.
- An experience in customer service.
