Pipewise works with pipeline operators across North America to deliver leak detection systems that integrate with existing SCADA infrastructure and provides continuous monitoring, tuning, and support.
Role Description
We’re hiring an Implementation Specialist to join our Operations and help deploy, maintain and support our pipeline leak detection systems. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on executing system deployments and ensuring ongoing performance in live operating environments.
You’ll work across the full lifecycle of our systems:
- Configuring and deploying systems in client environments
- Integrating with customer data sources and infrastructure
- Troubleshooting across data, software, and system performance
- Monitoring, maintaining, and supporting live deployments
What You'll Do
1. System deployments:
- Configure and set up Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) leak detection systems
- Lead deployments from kickoff to go-live
- Integrate with client data sources and infrastructure, including ODBC, OPC, APIs, and related tools
- Test, validate, and commission systems prior to go-live
- Ensure deployments are configured and integrated correctly for each client’s operating environoment
2. System support & maintenance:
- Monitor and maintain assigned systems
- Review pipeline operational data to assess system performance
- Identify opportunities to improve detection performance, reliability, and stability
- Perform ongoing tuning and optimization after go-live
3. Troubleshooting & problem solving:
- Diagnose system, data, and performance challenges with incomplete or imperfect information
- Determine root cause and apply fixes where appropriate
- Escalate complex items to the Systems team when needed
- Document learnings to improve future deployments and support processes
4. Collaborate with the team:
Contribute to improving processes and deployment efficiency
Work closely with:
- Operations Lead - assist with client reporting and system design support
- Other Implementation Specialists - coordinating deployments, sharing knowledge, and balancing workload
- Systems team - supporting software, database, and technical escalations
- Product team - providing input into system improvements and future development
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Has a diploma or degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience in systems, data, software, or industrial technology
- Exhibits strong problem-solving skills and can work independently through technical challenges
- Technically capable and comfortable working across data, systems, and software tools
- Can manage, analyze, and interpret large volumes of operational data
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Takes ownership of work from deployment through ongoing support and maintenance
- Is organized and able to manage multiple priorities across active deployments and live systems
- Has experience in technical roles such as systems support, data/technical analysis, software development, or hands-on technical work
- Is familiar with data integrations such as APIs, ODBC, OPC, MQTT, and structured data such as SQL
- Has exposure to scripting or programming, such as Python or C++, which is an asset but not required
- Has experience with industrial systems and/or oil and gas, which is preferred but not required
