Position DetailsPosition: Part Time Security Guard Site: Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham City: North York, ON Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Hours: Monday - Friday 1500-1900 Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.50 / an hour Posting Date: April 24th, 2026 Internal Closing Date: April 30th, 2026 External Closing Date: May 1st 2026 Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout Newnham's extensive facilities, academic buildings, residence, and student spaces
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies with confidence and care
• Provide excellent customer service and information to students, visitors, and faculty
• Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd management during events
• Prepare thorough incident reports and assist with investigations
• Engage with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and campus partners as needed

Qualifications

• Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
• Ontario Security Guard License
• WSIB Approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
• Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
• Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
• Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
