Junior Environmental Scientist/Technologist/Geoscientist-A Day in the Life As an Junior Engineer/Scientist, in our Calgary, Alberta office, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $25.00 to $35.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Assist with the field coordination and execution of Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments; remediation and ground water monitoring programs
- Support well abandonment activities including: surface reclamation, soil and vegetation assessment
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, work plans, and cost estimates
- Participate in spill responses and associated clean-up activities
- Travel as required to support field programs
- Aid other service line projects when needed
Your Expertise And Skills
- Degree or technical diploma in the environmental sciences, engineering, or other applicable field
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Service-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
- Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- A valid class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions and clean driving record
