Together, we will advance our way of life and protect the integrity of our environment every step of the way. A Day in the Life As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting leaders and employees through a broad range of people programs, employee relations matters, talent initiatives, and organizational priorities. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong partnership with operational leaders while also supporting day-to-day HR needs within your client group. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing practical guidance, sound HR advice, and support that helps strengthen leadership capability, employee engagement, and overall business performance. The compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary HR contact for leaders and employees within assigned client groups, providing guidance, coaching, support, and redirection as needed on HR programs, policies, and processes.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with operational leaders to understand business needs, support organizational priorities, and align people strategies with business objectives.
  • Execute HR and talent management processes, including performance management, compensation, organizational development, talent planning, leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide support on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, discipline, disability management, development plans, and other sensitive workplace issues, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with applicable employment legislation.
  • Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, organizational design, change management, communication, and employee engagement within their teams.
  • Work in partnership with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning, define talent needs, and help recruit and retain strong talent.
  • Coach and equip leaders through practical, hands-on guidance and leadership support to strengthen management capability, accountability, and confidence.
  • Proactively identify people-related trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend actions based on data, market research, business needs, and HR best practices.
  • Identify skill gaps and support training, career development, performance improvement, and employee growth initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong consultative and stakeholder management skills, serving as a trusted resource for well-grounded advice, sound judgment, and practical HR expertise.
  • Support professional development within the HR team through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the broader HR team to enhance programs, policies, practices, and processes related to strategic and operational employee matters.

Your Expertise And Skills These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of HR Business Partner experience, preferably in a high-growth, complex, or geographically dispersed environment.
  • Broad-based, hands-on HR experience, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, employment policies, talent acquisition, training and development, succession planning, and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and workplace practices. Experience with Ontario employment legislation is considered an asset.
