NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is fixed-term post of 12 months from August 2026. 40 hours per week.The shift pattern for this post is full shift. The post will be for 12 months and will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Applications are invited for the above post in Acute Internal Medicine, based in the Queen Elizabeth U niversity Hospital (QEUH), Glasgow. This post will commence in Aug 26 Jul 27. This post is not part of the National Recruitment process for Specialty Training in Acute Internal Medicine and is not recognised for training by NHS Education for Scotland. The post will provide an opportunity for ongoing development of skills and experience in Acute Internal Medicine for 12 months. This post is aimed at doctors who have completed 4-5 years of training and are considering a career in Acute Internal Medicine, an acute medical speciality, or Intensive Care Medicine. To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a license to practice. The successful applicant will take a full part in the Medical senior tier daytime and on call rota (50% rota banding). Due to the high number of applicants this post may close early.
