Position                      NMR Application Chemist – Maternity Leave Coverage

Position Summary

We are looking for an energetic, positive, hardworking person to add to our dynamic team. The NMR Application Chemist will be tasked with contributing to the development of new products, features and novel Industrial Applications.  This position is a unique opportunity to cultivate novel low-field benchtop NMR methods that can facilitate the easy incorporation of NMR Spectroscopy into a variety of laboratory settings.  Tasks will cover a wide range of responsibilities including sample preparation, data collection, data processing, and instrument analysis. 

Required Education

BSc Chemistry minimum, a higher-level degree is an asset.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

1. Work in conjunction with the Application Chemistry team to develop new NMR applications

2. Prepare samples, measure customer data

3. Prepare application notes and other technical documents

4. Assess and maintain spectrometer performance

5. Provide internal and external technical support

6. Work with product development to release new features and/or products

7. Travel to conferences, demos or support as required. 

8. Other duties as is required to support manufacturing, sales and marketing

Skills: 

-       General chemistry skills – e.g., sample preparation, solubility, safety

-       Technical writing skills

-       Strong computer skills 

-       Strong problem solving required 

-       Communication skills and teamwork is important 

-       Experience in NMR spectroscopy is required 

-       Knowledge of NMR processing software (Topspin, Mnova, and ACD/Labs) would be highly beneficial

-       Experience in multivariate statistics would be beneficial

-       Contentious, attention to detail, strong work ethic

-       Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative

Nanalysis continues to grow with its new acquisition of One Moon Scientific, based in New York. Today, their software, NMRViewJ, is considered to be one of the leading programs that scientists use for NMR data analysis.
