Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Professional Sales, the Director of Sales – Professional (Canada) is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving brand growth, increasing market penetration—particularly in the color category—and delivering revenue and profitability goals across the Canadian professional sales channel.
Leading a team of Regional Brand Managers, the Director provides clear direction, coaching, and accountability to ensure strong field execution and customer engagement.
The role also serves as a key connector across functions, working closely with Marketing, Education, and Commercial teams to develop and execute integrated go-to-market strategies that strengthen brand presence in salons, distributors, and other professional environments.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Set Sales Objectives: Establish clear sales targets across all markets, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic goals.
- Performance Management: Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement actionable strategies to drive Regional Brand Managers toward achieving sales goals.
- Market & Data Analysis: Regularly analyze sales data and market trends to identify strategic opportunities within geographic regions and distributor/salon partners.
- Distributor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with distributor partners to ensure mutual growth and success.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing and Education teams to support product launches, enhance in-salon experiences, and ensure cohesive brand messaging.
- Product Focus: Maintain a strong emphasis on growing the professional hair color collection throughout the territory, positioning it as a key driver of business growth.
- Strategic Communication: Create compelling, data-driven presentations to effectively convey business strategies, performance insights, and brand initiatives to internal and external partners.

- Leadership Excellence: Proven track record of building, developing, and inspiring high-performing sales teams across diverse markets.
- Financial & Strategic Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in P&L management, ROI analysis, budget oversight, and client relationship strategy.
- Agility & Problem Solving: Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset.
- Relationship Building: Skilled at establishing and nurturing strong relationships with distributor partners and key stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, tailored to influence and engage across all business levels.
- Organizational Strength: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.
Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a director-level sales or business development role.
- Previous experience working in the professional haircare industry is a must.
- The ability to travel 50% of the time and work occasional weekends.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
