Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Toronto, ON. The Building Automation Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems, including tasks such as installation & commissioning, programming, preventive maintenance, and system diagnostics. Candidates will perform on-site work at customer locations while also having the flexibility for some remote tasks. Collaboration with engineering teams and adherence to safety standards will be key elements of the role. Included in the monitoring on-call rotation to provide 24/7 on call remote technical support for remote BAS systems under monitoring contracts.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues in automation systems
- Experience with Niagara (AX/N4) based building automation systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and capabilities in performing preventive maintenance
- Experience with automation systems, including programming and optimization
- Familiarity with building systems, HVAC controls, and energy management solutions is an asset
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Technical diploma or degree in engineering, automation, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local sites as needed
