Director of Operations / General Manager

Our client is in the perishable product, wholesale distribution space in the Vancouver area.

They are looking for a business leader to oversee their operations as a Director of Operations / General Manager, with full P&L responsibility of a fast moving, well established company. This role requires a seasoned leader with expertise in business strategy and growth, management, supply chain management, and perishable goods handling.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee procurement, inventory management, cold chain logistics, and order fulfillment.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels.
• Monitor industry developments and adjust operations accordingly.
• Ensure timely delivery to customers while minimizing waste and spoilage.
• Manage relationships with wholesalers and transport providers.
• Oversight of business, sales and growth
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Analyze cost structures and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Lead and mentor warehouse, logistics, and sales teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and responsiveness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Horticulture, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in operations, distribution, logistics, or in a perishable product industry, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of perishable goods logistics and cold chain management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management software.

Salary in the 150-180,000 range base plus bonus. Open to discussion for the right experience level.
