Assistant Project Manager

M3 Development Management is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Calgary team. This role is ideal for a technically strong and highly organized professional who wants to grow in their career in construction project management. 

The successful candidate will be fueled by passion for the industry and will support Project Managers and Directors in the planning and execution of projects. As a member of M3’s Calgary office, you will be part of growing team, with room to advance your career.

A Day in the Life: 

At M3, no two days will look alike. As one of our Assistant Project Managers, you will support Project Managers with day-to-day tasks like coordinating with vendors, monitoring budget spending, and collaborating with key stakeholders to find resources and more information for a project.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of development and construction projects
• Coordinating consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Monitoring project documentation and maintaining organized records within document management systems
• Attending site meetings and assisting with construction progress monitoring
• Identifying issues early and working collaboratively to solve problems and keep projects moving forward
• Supporting regulatory approvals and permitting processes
• Assisting with construction administration, including RFIs, change orders, and documentation
• Tracking budgets, schedules, and key project milestones

What You Bring:

• Post-secondary degree or certificate in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 3 – 5+ years of experience working with a developer, construction, design, or project management firm.
• Experience planning and managing all aspects of multiple projects.
• Proficiency with MS Excel 
• Experience working on active building sites and familiarity with core building systems and construction sequencing.
• Experience using document management systems such as Procore.
• Understanding of construction administration processes including:
• RFIs
• Change orders
• Purchase orders
• Budgeting.

• Familiarity with industry software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Project

The Following Experience Would be Considered an Asset:

• Navigating the regulatory approvals process including OCP amendments, Development Permits, and Building Permits
• Working with multi-family residential and high-end single family residential.
• Working in a capacity as a developer, or in a developer setting.
• Producing proformas and feasibility studies.
• Working with all aspects of project delivery from initial feasibility, through to final deficiency reviews.
• Familiarity with phased project delivery strategies.
• Leading all aspects of a project lifecycle.
