Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Services, the Senior Financial Analyst oversees day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance and fiscal accountability, and supports strategic decision-making. This role manages procurement, asset management, expenditure control, accounts payable, revenue, contract management, and reporting. It also provides financial guidance and supports the forecasting process.
What You’ll Do:
· Oversee financial processes, including procurement, asset management, accounts payable, revenue, expenditure control and internal/external reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and controls.
· Manage the purchase card program and maintain fiscal accountability.
· Support expense forecasting in order to analyze financial trends.
· Provide financial guidance to Officers of the Legislative Assembly on appropriation control, financial policies and accounting procedures.
· Act as primary liaison with the provincial auditor and coordinate audit requirements.
· Lead year-end accounting processes and financial reporting.
· Assist in updating and monitoring financial policies and ensuring compliance.
· Review financial reconciliations.
· Manage and maintain the chart of accounts, overseeing system updates and financial reporting.
What You Bring:
· A degree in finance, accounting, or business administration. A CPA designation would be an asset. Candidates must actively be working toward a CPA designation.
· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, reporting, and operations, preferably in a public sector environment.
· Strong financial analysis and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
· Experience and knowledge of Saskatchewan’s public service and knowledge of the legislative branch is beneficial.
