Reporting to the Manager of Retail Operations Planning, you will plan, develop, coordinate, and administer the division’s budgeting process for all stores and retail Head Office cost centres. You will also assist in procuring services, equipment, and technology necessary for the successful running of the division. - Collaborate with the Manager, Retail Operations Planning in planning, developing, coordinating, and administering the division’s budgeting process for 690+ stores and all Retail Head Office cost centres.
- Assemble and summarize financial data to optimally structure various Power BI dashboards.
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
- Administer various LCBO programs & the organization’s Employee Relocation Program.
- Develop and maintain various complex and interrelated databases used to track progress in sales, labour, and expense spending, KPI’s and other metrics, Trade Area impacts of new stores, Health and Safety reporting, Daily Sales Forecasting, and vendor contract oversight, to report at various levels of the company.
- Use SQL to query large datasets efficiently, integrate data from multiple sources, and support the development of custom reports and dashboards.
- Analyze and critique project and plans prior to and after implementation to value add the process.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple reporting platforms and databases, applying best practices in data governance.
About You
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, data science, or business.
- 5+ years of work experience in a similar position.
- Financial designations such as CPA would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, reporting, and database management is considered an asset.
- Formal training or certification in PowerBI or similar analytics software is preferred.
- Highly developed understanding of LCBO retail operations and retailing in general. Must have the ability to undertake and explain complex financial and statistical analyses.
- Experience with various software packages with bias to databases, statistical modeling software, (primarily Microsoft Excel and Access), and business intelligence software (primarily Microsoft PowerBI).
- Demonstrate understanding of the complexities and sensitivities of operating a “government business entity” in a competitive marketplace.
- A sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
