Design/Build Landscape Technician
Job Description
Posted on: June 23, 2026
We're hiring a Design-Build Landscape Technician
Lawn 'N' Order Custom Landscapes Winnipeg
We build high-end patios, retaining walls, and full backyard transformations. Good work, done right, by people who take pride in it. We're looking to add someone to our Construction crew who wants to grow a career here, not just work a season.
You'd be taking projects from prepped site to finished space. Laying base, setting stone, building structures, and handling the final details that make a build look sharp. If you already know your way around a job site and you care whether the lines are clean and the joints are tight, you'll fit in well here.
The basics
$18 to $22 an hour to start, with more for experienced equipment operators. Reviews at 90 days and end of season.
40 to 50 hours a week, April through November. Overtime after 50 hours under the Manitoba landscape exemption.
Winter work available for strong performers (snow routes and shop work).
Benefits include health, dental, and vision, plus boot discounts, uniforms, and team BBQs.
The work
Building patios, walkways, steps, walls, and drainage. Excavating, grading, and placing base to spec. Setting pavers, natural stone, and block to a high standard. Running skid-steers, mini-excavators, compactors, and saws. Documenting jobs in the LMN app.
What we're looking for
At least 2-3 full season in landscape construction, hardscape, or a related trade. Equivalent hands-on build experience counts too. Beyond that, we want someone reliable who shows up on time and ready, takes initiative without being told twice, and works safely. You'll need to lift 50 lbs repeatedly through the day and hold a Manitoba Class 5 licence.
Equipment experience, First Aid or CPR, trade tickets, or landscape and construction coursework are all nice to have, but none of them are deal-breakers.
Where it goes
There's no single ladder here. People who started on the crew have moved into Lead Hand and Team Lead roles running our builds, onto estimating and project management, or into specialist work in hardscape, masonry, and Lawn Maintenance that pays accordingly. We also log your hours and schooling toward a Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist ticket. We figure out the right path with you in person, once we see how you work.
How we hire
We keep it quick. Send a résumé, fill out a short questionnaire, have a 15-minute chat, then come spend a real shift with a crew. If it's a fit, you're hired. No long mystery process.
If you've got real build experience and you're looking for somewhere to grow, send us your résumé or message us directly. We'd like to meet you.
