Position Overview LawDepot is currently expanding and looking to recruit an Accountant in Edmonton, Alberta. Working closely with our Accounting team and CEO, you will play a key role in supporting the accounting operations across all LawDepot companies. This is a part-time permanent position, working 15 hours per week. Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping functions, including accurately posting expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank transactions, and foreign currency transactions
  • Record sales from multiple payment processing accounts
  • Support Accounts Payable transactions (ex. utility bills, advertising accounts, hardware purchases) and department budgets
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation to support reporting and internal controls
  • Assist in month-end and year-end preparation
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures, and internal control
  • Provide backup support to other team members and assist with additional accounting tasks as needed
  • Take initiative and embrace opportunities for increased responsibility over time, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in the field of Accounting
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting software (SAGE50) would be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous accounting experience is considered an asset
