Manager Systems Development

Position Overview: Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected organization to recruit a Manager of Systems Development. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys guiding teams, modernizing development practices, and building reliable systems that support data-driven decision-making. This position plays a key role in shaping how applications, databases, and analytics platforms are designed, delivered, and supported across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of application developers and database professionals, setting clear priorities and fostering a collaborative, high-accountability environment
• Oversee the delivery and ongoing improvement of enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, and databases, ensuring stability, performance, and security
• Drive modern development and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing, and release management
• Guide the evolution of reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions to support operational and strategic needs
• Champion responsible innovation, including the thoughtful use of AI-enabled tools, in partnership with architecture, infrastructure, and security teams
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable technical solutions, while managing risks, capacity, and technical debt

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in people leadership combined with strong technical ownership
• Proven background leading application development and database teams in complex environments
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Solid technical foundation with Oracle and Microsoft technologies (e.g., PL/SQL, C#, ASP.NET, database design)
• Working knowledge of DevOps concepts, Azure DevOps tooling, and modern system architectures
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
