Role Description The Director of Video Production is a part-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for leading end-to-end video projects from concept to final delivery. This role oversees all stages of video production, including pre-production planning, scripting support, shot lists, scheduling, and coordinating crew and equipment. On a day-to-day basis, the Director of Video Production will manage filming on set, direct talent and camera teams, and ensure proper lighting, sound, and cinematography for each project. The role includes supervising video post-production activities such as editing, colour correction, sound design, and motion graphics, while maintaining brand and quality standards. The director will collaborate closely with marketing, IT, and client-facing teams to align video content with campaign objectives and technology-focused messaging, while managing timelines, budgets, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong video production skills, including planning, shooting, and overseeing on-set operations (Video Production, Film Production).
• Proficiency in video post-production workflows and tools, with experience in editing, colour grading, and sound integration (Video Post-Production).
• Solid understanding of visual storytelling principles, framing, camera movement, and composition (Cinematography).
• Hands-on experience with studio and location lighting, including designing lighting setups to achieve desired mood and image quality (Lighting).
• Demonstrated experience leading or directing video projects, with the ability to manage small production teams and contractors.
• Familiarity with digital marketing or agency environments, and the ability to translate marketing objectives into video content.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with industry-standard editing and production software (e.g., Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects or similar).
• Post-secondary education in film, media production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB, including occasional evenings or weekends as production schedules require.
