Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator

Just HR is recruiting for a Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator to support a growing restoration company in Edmonton. This role is key to ensuring smooth payroll processing and a positive employee experience across the organization. Working closely with both the HR and payroll teams, you will help maintain compliance, improve onboarding processes, and foster a supportive work environment as the company continues to expand.

Responsibilities:

• Approve and audit daily hourly timecards
• Support payroll processes, including compensation updates and year-end reporting
• Interpret and apply federal and provincial payroll regulations
• Post jobs, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and support hiring decisions
• Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation
• Maintain current and accurate job descriptions and training records
• Conduct reference and background checks
• Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters
• Support performance reviews and employee surveys
• Assist with investigations and policy updates
• Coordinate employee training and certification renewals
• Contribute to the development of internal training programs
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
• Step in as backup for other HR and payroll team members when needed

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in payroll administration
• 1+ years of experience in human resources
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
• CPHR designation or candidacy is an asset
• Payroll certification or coursework is an asset
• Strong understanding of employment and payroll legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Highly organized, adaptable, and discreet with confidential information
• Knowledge of the restoration or construction industry is a plus

Remuneration:

• $65,000 - $75,000 Base Salary
