Job Description

Posted on: November 9, 2025

Inspire. Empower. Connect.

At Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta (JA), we believe in the boundless potential of young people. Every day, we help students discover what’s possible through hands-on learning in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness.

As part of a global network reaching over 12 million students each year, JA Northern Alberta delivers programs that ignite curiosity, confidence, and capability in the next generation of innovators and business leaders.

Now, we’re looking for an energetic, community-minded professional to help lead one of Alberta’s most inspiring youth entrepreneurship experiences — the JA Company Program.

About the Role

As Program Lead, Company Program, you’ll bring our flagship 18-week entrepreneurship experience to life. You’ll coordinate student teams, mentor volunteer leaders, and manage events that culminate in Alberta’s biggest youth business pitch competition — The Big Pitch.

This isn’t just a coordination role, it’s a chance to be at the center of Alberta’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, connecting with startup founders, business mentors, educators, and community champions who are passionate about growing future talent.

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a natural relationship-builder who loves creating meaningful learning experiences and believes in the power of youth innovation.

What You'll Do

Lead & Deliver JA's Company Program

  • Lead delivery of both after-school and in-school Company Programs across Northern Alberta.
  • Support mentors and students through the full program lifecycle — from recruitment to celebration of achievement.
  • Ensure program quality through proactive communication, on-site supervision, support, and engagement.
  • Supervise sessions, celebrate progress, and problem-solve with creativity and empathy.

Build & Activate the Community

  • Recruit, onboard, and steward volunteer mentors from Alberta’s business community.
  • Develop relationships with schools, educators, and community partners to expand reach.
  • Collaborate with JA’s corporate partners to align programming with community goals.
  • Represent JA at key ecosystem events and inspire new partnerships.

Create High-Impact Student Experiences

  • Lead planning and logistics for key JA events: The Big Pitch, Executive Training, Trade Shows, and Award Ceremonies.
  • Support other large-scale JA events.
  • Ensure every event reflects JA’s mission of empowering young people through experiential learning.

Support Data, Reporting, and Collaboration

  • Track program participation, outcomes, and feedback for funders and internal reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with JA staff to align programming with strategic objectives.

In addition to the outlined responsibilities, the Program Lead, Company Program is expected to actively participate in events and opportunities that support the overall mission and goals of Junior Achievement. These additional duties are essential for fostering positive relationships with students, volunteers, schools, and the community at large and contribute to the overall success of JA.

What you Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in education, youth programming, entrepreneurship, community engagement, or event management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, you can confidently engage students, educators, and business professionals.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics, multiple deadlines, and community relationships with professionalism.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom).

Salesforce or CRM experience is an asset.

Reliable transportation within the Greater Edmonton Area.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Make a Difference: Every project you lead directly impacts young people discovering their potential.
  • Expand Your Network: Work alongside business mentors, entrepreneurs, and leaders across Alberta’s innovation and education ecosystems.
  • Grow Professionally: Access professional development time and funding to expand your skills.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a compressed 35-hour work week, and paid December break.
  • Competitive Benefits: Health Spending Account & Life Insurance, RRSP Matching, Professional Development time & budget

The role is a combination of in-office and out-in-community work.
