About The Opportunity The Supervisor and Chief Plant Operator supports daily coordination of maintenance staff and departmental operations. This role ensures all IWK buildings, systems, and properties - including the main campus and 15–20 off-site locations - are safe, reliable, and compliant with standards required for patient care and mission-critical services. Responsibilities include supervising staff and contractors, troubleshooting and prioritizing work, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry regulations. The position also provides backup support to the Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, while fulfilling legislative duties as Chief Plant Operator under the Power Engineers Technical Safety Act. About You
- Grade 12/GED required
- First class refrigeration certificate OR third-class power engineering certificate
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in plant maintenance, construction, or operations AND/OR 3 years of experience with building infrastructure in an acute-care hospital setting
Hours Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours weekly with flexibility to meet the demands of 24/7 operations including phone support and on-call rotation every third week Once You've Applied Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
