Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Fixed Income Operations & Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting capital markets operations—monitoring trade transactions, ensuring accurate settlements, and working across functional teams—while also applying data analytics skills to drive performance insights and process improvements. This role requires both operational precision and the ability to draw actionable conclusions from complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities:Fixed Income Operations:
- Oversee end-to-end processing and validation of high-volume fixed income transactions, including bonds, T-bills, and other debt instruments, ensuring timely and accurate settlement across global markets.
- Prioritize and manage critical tasks under tight intraday deadlines to prevent trade failures and uphold regulatory and market compliance.
- Liaise with trading desks, custodians, clearing houses, and counterparties to reconcile discrepancies, confirm trade details, and ensure smooth settlement flows.
- Investigate and proactively resolve trade breaks or settlement issues, minimizing financial exposure and operational risk.
- Maintain a deep understanding of fixed income product structures, lifecycle events, and trade booking conventions to ensure operational accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline trade workflows, automate manual processes, and enhance data integrity across platforms.
- Actively participate in post-trade exception management, reporting, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of best practices and internal controls in collaboration with operations leads and compliance teams.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving data quality, reconciliation, and fixed income reporting tools.
Data Analytics:
- Use tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Tableau to analyze sales and performance data, identify key trends, and create dashboards and visual reports.
- Conduct predictive and diagnostic analytics to inform business decisions and operational improvements.
- Present findings to stakeholders and leadership, supporting strategic decisions based on revenue, profitability, and engagement metrics.
- Apply statistical techniques (e.g., ARIMA, regression, clustering) and machine learning algorithms to support forecasting and automation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in financial operations and/or data analytics.
- Strong technical skills in:
- Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- SQL
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Python and/or R
- SAS (optional)
- AI/ML models, ARIMA, time series analysis (asset)
