ABOUT US
Hometown Homes is Saskatoon’s design-build professional. We design and build high-end homes, sprawling acreages and transformational renovations. We are the ‘Type A’ of organizations and are obsessed with continuous improvement through processes, systems and standardization. We’re known for our quality work, jobs running smoothly, and our Hometown feel and because of that, we are growing and are looking for a Design & Selections Coordinator to join our team.
OUR VALUESDETAILED
● Our work is square, straight and centered
● We clean up after ourselves
● We realize it’s the little things that go a long way
EFFICIENT
● We have a plan before we start
● We put continuous improvement into action
● We stick to our word
PERSONABLE
● We make everyone feel welcome
● We speak in layman’s terms
● We share and listen to all ideas
THE ROLE
You’ll assist our Designer and lead clients in making smart, stylish selections that align with their vision and budget, while keeping everything organized, on time, and ready for the construction crew. In short, you’re the glue between dreaming it and building it.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
● Lead client selection meetings, making design decisions easy, fun, and stress-free for our clients while recommending products and finishes that look great and fit the budget
● Request quotes, samples, and all the little things that make a big difference
● Enter everything into Buildertrend and ensure it is 100% accurate (you’ll be the Buildertrend Police), from selections to specifications, drawings and documentation
● Assist the Designer in drawing elevations and selection details in SketchUp
● Create mood boards and design presentations that wow
● Follow up on selections and approvals to keep the design timeline running smoothly
WHAT YOU NEED
You’ve got an eye for design, a love for details, and the people skills to guide clients through big decisions without breaking a sweat. To fit in, you need to have a crazy love for being organized, accurate, and understand how things work as a system (or the domino effect that errors can cause).
EDUCATION

● Valid driver’s license
EXPERIENCE
● Experience in a customer service setting, providing clients with a memorable experience
● Involvement in the residential construction industry with knowledge on the flow of design and construction processes
● Experience using SketchUp
● Exposure using Buildertrend, specifically its selections and files functions
● Experience using Canva and initiative taken to learn other AI tools
● Exposure to following detailed standard operating procedures, checklists and templates to a ‘T’ and being proactive in continuous improvement initiatives
COMPETENCIES (MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL)
● DETAILED: Every label and specification must be bang on. There’s no “close enough” in construction.
● EFFICIENT: Self-organize, prioritize and spend time in the most effective way.
● PERSONABLE: Self-awareness to know how you’re being perceived as clients come in all flavours; own the room, crack a joke and build trust with clients.
● CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Mistakes are made, root causes are identified; solutions are implemented; and the same mistake is never made twice.
● COMMUNICATION: Observant and respond to the needs of clients, trades, suppliers and team members and can read between the lines of what the client thinks they want.
● SYSTEMS THINKING: Anticipate how one detail affects everything else, looking at cause and effect, feedback loops and long-term consequences.
● TECH SAVVY: Quick learner with technology and initiative to mastering it.
● COMPOSURE UNDER PRESSURE: Keep your poker face in pressure situations.
● FOLLOW-THROUGH: It’s not enough to start something; finishing it is key.
WHAT WE OFFER
● Continuous improvement atmosphere where your ideas are heard
● Flexible work hours
● Fun work environment
● Freedom to work from home
● Opportunity to help shape a growing company
● Training and development opportunities
● Comprehensive benefits package
● Vehicle allowance
● Cell phone allowance
