Overview Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our fast-paced, global Supply Chain team. If you are an adaptable supply chain professional who is a strategic thinker, executes tactical materials planning and risk management activities and enjoys building rapport with vendors and motivating team members, then we want to hear from you! You will be responsible for procuring electronics components and materials in a lean manufacturing environment to consistently meet our customers' needs. The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary. Responsibilities As a Procurement Specialist, you will:

  • Provide direction and guidance to suppliers to reduce lead times while maintaining quality standards to meet project schedules.
  • Manage RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes to fulfill service and project requirements effectively.
  • Proactively identify potential supply risks and develop mitigation plans with suppliers to ensure service levels and project timelines are achieved.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Direct procurement activities using the MRP workbench and analyze/resolve MRP exception reports.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to communicate and implement NovAtel procurement strategies for on-time delivery and high-quality performance.
  • Support strategies such as Kanban, safety stock, and other risk mitigation programs to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Monitor and track shipments, ensuring proper documentation and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate resolution of quality issues and expedite material shortages with suppliers.
  • Assist in maintaining and setting up parts in the ERP system and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Cross-train and provide support to the Procurement Specialist team as required.

QualificationsMust-Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain management role
  • Post-secondary education
  • Experience and use of ERP/MRP, Kanban, Safety stock, and visual manufacturing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve set objectives and deliverables
  • Experience with risk mitigation strategies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Preferred experience in the manufacturing and electronics industry

Nice-to-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams, with specific experience in facilitation roles
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Project management skills
