Position Overview The Count Room Attendant is involved in the collection of the coin or bill validator drop and the processing of soft count (soft count deals with paper currency). The Count Room Attendent will also promote and maintain the utmost integrity and highest caliber patron service to all internal and external patrons of the Casino. Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the company, the department and the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC), and ensure the policy of confidentiality within the company is adhered to at all times. DUTIES And RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Maintain a valid AGLC license, AML (Anti Money Laundering), and BULLETPROOF
  • Reports to the Count Team Supervisor
  • Responsible for the safeguard of casino assets of the assigned area
  • Count and report the daily drop to the accounting department
  • Follow all pre-established routes for soft drop, and overall drop procedures
  • Prepare the buy for the Cashier
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the operation of the count room and their compliance with the approved system of accounting, department procedures and Internal Controls, ensuring that:
  • all documentation is neat, concise and accurate
  • the opening, sorting, counting, and recording is accurate
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure a professional image is portrayed

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous banking or money handling experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • To logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments or tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to perceive quality of work, read material and review documents, receive/follow/apply instructions
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Possess high-quality interpersonal skills
  • Set and achieve high standards of performance and customer service skills
  • The capabilities to multi task under time constraints
  • Perform basic math skills and use problem solving skills
  • Ability to express ideas or make recommendations concerning job related issues, learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments and maintain knowledge of basic concepts and techniques
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or kneel as required
  • Work with tools or equipment pertaining to job requirements
  • Perform job tasks and remain vigilant in the event of an emergency
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull heavy objects of approximately 40 pounds
  • The physical qualifications listed above are general requirements for this position. The actual exertion level (and frequency of use) can and does fluctuate depending on the individual tasks being performed.
  • Must be aware of and able to work in a smoking environment
  • Exposure to Scents/Perfumes.

Health And Safety Responsibilities

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), regulations and internal health and safety policies and procedures including any departmental policies
  • Use and wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the Casino; must always report to work in a clean uniform
  • Maintain proper hygiene and grooming at all times

Working Conditions

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Must have employment eligibility in Canada.
