The Department of Families is seeking qualified candidates to fill two Regional Director positions to lead and manage service delivery of the Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) Programs, one for EIA Winnipeg North Offices and the other for EIA Winnipeg South Offices.
For one of the Regional Director positions, Employment Equity will be preference consideration. Duties:
As a member of the department’s management team, the Regional Director is responsible to lead and manage Regional Social Services (RSS) service regions and provide advice and support to the Executive Director responsible for Regional Social Services.
The RSS service regions are collectively responsible for direct service delivery of the full range of programs offered by the Department of Families, including but not limited to Employment & Income Assistance, Community Living disAbility Services, Children’s’ disAbility Services, Autism & Early Intervention Supports. Services delivered by each region offer a slightly different mix of those programs
Qualifications:Essentials:
- Post-secondary degree in social sciences or public administration and experience working in a social services environment. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in social services includes program delivery, program oversight, evaluation and financial management.
- Proven ability as a leader with a commitment to create, support and sustain a diverse environment that enables staff to achieve results and to develop for the future.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage opportunities for innovation, find creative solutions to issues, and successfully manage change.
- Management experience with responsibility for human and financial resources.
- Experience translating strategic priorities into clear operational and business plans and experience with strategic performance management and measurement systems (e.g. Key Performance Indicators).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Political acumen demonstrated through experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics and sensitive issues.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Experience within a social services setting providing leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies and programs.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba on government business, including overnight travel
