G.E. Barbour Inc. is a multi-product food processor based in Sussex, New Brunswick,
Canada. Since 1867, Barbours has been producing quality food products that include:
• Teas
• Seasonings
• Baking Extracts
• Peanut and Almond Butters
Our brands include King Cole, Aasana, Fatso, Nuts About, Pop N Top, and Barbours.
We sell to various channels, including Retail, Foodservice, Dollar and Convenience. We
are also a major private label supplier to several customers in Canada, USA, Korea,
Mexico and Japan.
As a sales professional, you live for the sales hunt and enjoy the challenge of achieving
your sales objectives. Self-motivated and goal-oriented, you measure success by
achieving your sales targets while delighting your customers with prompt and attentive
service. Customer-focused, you listen first, identify opportunities, and offer solutions.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, you are a team player and enjoy working within a
team environment to solve problems and meet customer requirements. Detailed and
accountable, you take ownership of the product P&L to ensure revenues are aligned
with budgets. An optimist, you tend to see opportunities where others see roadblocks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Selling both our branded products and co-manufacturing/ private label services to
primarily major retail accounts in Canada.
- Identify, develop, and work an active and robust sales funnel to achieve company
sales targets.
- Keep accurate records of opportunities, decision makers, influencers, and daily
interactions and insights.
- Provide detailed monthly report updating sales funnel wins/losses and sales
projections
- Lead contract negotiations with major retailers to achieve profitability targets.
- Attend food shows and industry events to promote Barbours’ product lines and
co-packing capabilities.
- Build strong customer relationships and create an expectation that we are easy
to do business with.
Qualifications:
· Post Secondary Business Degree
· Some basic experience with a CRM.
· Passion for Selling
· Flexibility to travel (1-2 nights per month as required)
· Self-motivated
· Proficiency in Excel/Power Point
· Good organizational skills
· Able to follow through and complete overlapping tasks, prioritize workload
against deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
· Strong work ethic
· Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
A background in CPG or Food Distributor Sales would be essential. We are looking for

Barbours offers a competitive compensation package that includes a car allowance, fuel

This position is based in Ontario with some out-of-province travel required, which
includes but is not limited to planning & training sessions in Sussex, NB and visits to
clients as required. The expectation for this role is 75% of the work week is planning for
reviews, promoting our capabilities, scheduling demos, discussing strategies for
branded and private label opportunities from your home-based office.
