Job Title: Payroll & Compliance Manager Job Status: Full-Time Job Location: FFUN Group (Hybrid - Opportunity to work in office in Saskatoon, and partial from home) Job Summary The Payroll & Compliance Manager is a key leader within the FFUN Group's Accounting team, responsible for overseeing the full-cycle payroll function across all business units, ensuring compliance with all payroll legislation, and leading a high-performing team. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves digging into processes, and can balance accuracy, efficiency, and leadership. You’re a natural communicator who can adjust your tone depending on the audience and aren’t afraid to take ownership of complex problems. This position reports to the Group Controller and collaborates closely with the HR, Accounting, and Operations teams. Job Responsibilities
- Lead and support the payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate processing across multiple pay models (salary, commission, hourly)
- Maintain full compliance with all payroll legislation, government remittances, and CRA requirements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, employment standards, tax, benefits, and recordkeeping.
- Maintain and develop internal policies and procedures for payroll and benefits administration.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and processes meet audit standards.
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend policy updates accordingly.
- Administer group benefits plans, including enrollment, changes and employee inquires
- Oversee year-end processes including T4s, ROEs, and WCB reporting
- Strategically develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and systems
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting on all things people
- Manage payroll audits, system updates, and ensure data security
- Provide payroll insights to support budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning
- Support payroll setup and compliance integration for new business units
Key Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in relevant field
- Professional credentials as a Payroll Professional or working toward these credentials
- +5 years experience processing complex payroll
- Experience leading a team
- Master of organization and accuracy
- Superior skills with computer payroll systems
- Experience with multiple pay models (hourly, salary, commission, bonuses, etc.)
- Customer service focus, responsive, pleasant, even-tempered and diplomatic
