Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Account Manager position located in Calgary, AB. The Account Manager will be responsible for fostering distributor relationships, managing accounts, and identifying customer needs. This is a hybrid technical‑sales role. The Account Manager does not directly sell end‑user contracts, but works closely with distributor sales teams, technicians, and municipal customers to ensure Encom products are specified, quoted, supported, and successfully deployed. Day-to-day tasks include developing sales strategies, creating proposals, identifying market trends, and maintaining ongoing communication with distribution network to ensure satisfaction and retention. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to meet customer goals and improve services.
Qualifications
- Sales and account management experience, including lead generation, client relationship management, and drafting proposals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Ability to analyze market trends and proactively identify customer needs and opportunities
- Time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities to meet deadlines and achieve business targets
- Familiarity with technology products and services related to wireless data solutions is an asset
- Proficiency in CRM tools and basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in industries such as municipal services, transportation systems, or public safety is beneficial
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with a portfolio of exclusive distributors, primarily in the United States
- Support distributor sales efforts through product training, presentations, and project support
- Act as a frontline technical resource for product questions, application guidance, and troubleshooting
- Assist with quoting, RFQs, RFPs, and product specification for municipal and infrastructure projects
- Participate in customer and distributor meetings, site visits, and user group sessions
- Support marketing initiatives such as webinars, trade shows, datasheets, and product launches
- Coordinate internally with engineering, production, and leadership teams as needed
- Maintain CRM activity, opportunity tracking, and account updates
- Provide support throughout long sales cycles and ongoing project deployments
