SuperintendentEdmonton/ABCommercial Construction / General ContractorPosition Overview As a critical contributor to the success of our Construction - General Contractor Client., the Superintendent is accountable for managing all onsite construction activities. This role works closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while demonstrating high-quality performance and strict adherence to safety protocols. The Superintendent will interact with all project stakeholders, embodying the company's vision and values, and is responsible for safety leadership, quality assurance, project scheduling and execution, and budget adherence. Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership by promoting the client's "Elevate Safety" value, leading meetings, conducting site reporting and inspections, maintaining a visible on-site presence, and ensuring training and certification.
- Coordinate and supervise all on-site daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with site safety standards for all personnel.
- Responsible for QA/QC across all project phases: pre-construction, course of construction, and post-construction.
- Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Review and maintain construction schedules and budgets, procuring necessary materials and equipment.
- Schedule inspections and consultant reviews as required, managing purchasing and receipt submission and coding, and employee time entry.
- Communicate and forecast resource needs, while mentoring, training, and coaching employees.
- Interpret and manage contractual obligations and responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Perform carpentry and general labor as needed to support project execution.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing projects with a value of $5M+.
- Minimum of 10+ years of general contracting experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Superintendent experience.
- Experience overseeing 35+ workers onsite.
- Mid-level proficiency in contractual/financial obligations, scheduling and planning, and trade practices/techniques.
- Advanced skills in project stakeholder collaboration/interactions and workplace compliance (regulations, ordinances, legislation, and building codes).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with training, mentorship, and utilizing technology.
Education:
- Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline.
