Glazing Estimator

DESA Glass is a family-owned and operated Canadian company based out of Rocky View County. We are a leader in commercial glazing and manufacturer of proprietary aluminum building envelope systems. We offer pre-construction design and engineering assistance, rapid response to quotation requests, cost-saving opportunities, precision manufacturing, on-time delivery, and client support throughout the life cycle of the project.

We are looking for an Estimator who wants to join a challenging and fast-paced environment. Estimators are responsible for preparing detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for commercial glazing and cladding projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site Estimator role located in Calgary, AB. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing architectural drawings and specifications, producing accurate take-offs and estimates, sourcing material and subcontractor pricing, and preparing competitive tenders. The Estimator will also collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure clarity of scope and alignment with budget expectations.

EDUCATION | SKILLS | QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 5–10 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial glazing
• Experience with unitized and stick-built curtain wall systems
• Familiarity with Kawneer, Alumicor, and Oldcastle storefront systems
• Proficient in Bluebeam and Logikal estimating software
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings/specifications
• Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience in projects ranging from $50,000 to $40 million is an asset
