PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Analyst, Receivables Management, you will ensure the timely collection of all amounts due under customer contracts and tariffs while maintaining a strong client relationship. This involves utilizing the Collection Escalation Process to include letters and phone calls, while at the same time addressing customer disputes, concerns or inquiries.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Timely monitoring and collecting of past due receivables; maintaining confidentiality while protecting CPKC’s financial position
  • Investigates, validates and resolves account discrepancies/disputes, by working with both CPKC’s internal & external customers
  • Builds and maintain collaborative relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strategically manages multiple escalated accounts in addition to a non-escalated portfolio
  • Drills down to the root cause to resolve complex issues; ensuring a go-forward process is in place
  • Build business cases to support account resolution
  • Drives process improvements by proactively identifying issues and implementing solutions
  • Provides subject matter expertise and support functions to other departments or projects, and performs other duties as may be assigned
  • Adherence to daily targets and departmental objectives

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 2 years’ experience in a collections or related role; Railroad or transportation experience is an asset
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
  • SAP system (ECC & S4) knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written with both internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Ability to critically think through complex problems and offer solutions
  • Strong situational awareness

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
