Position Title: Enforcement Operation AssistantDepartment: Enforcement OperationsLocation: TorontoStatus: Regular Full-time (Hybrid)Day in the life of: As a self-regulatory organization, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) is committed to setting high regulatory standards for the investment industry, safeguarding investors, and supporting the integrity of Canada’s capital markets. Reporting to the Manager, Enforcement Operations, the Enforcement Assistant provides administrative support to investigators and litigators for active cases. In this position, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping the teams organized with evidence handling and document management.  Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to various teams within Enforcement for reported complaints and any subsequent investigations   
  • Coordinate and prepare written correspondence related to case information and manage evidence  
  • Organize, format, and assist with document management of all evidence as directed by investigators, often using SharePoint and e-discovery software 
  • Provide support in the complaint intake process by setting up cases in a database and managing the workflow accordingly  
  • Coordinating with regulators and member firms on cases as required 

Key Skills and Competencies:Must-haves

  • Exceptional document management and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work proactively, efficiently and independently, to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner 
  • A keen eye for detail  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with coworkers 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a sensitive manner 
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, including SharePoint, MS Word, Excel 
  • Familiarity with the securities industry and/or legal environments 

Nice to Haves

  • Post-Secondary education (University Degree or College Diploma)  
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) other related courses are considered assets 
  • Financial industry experience, at a dealer member, another self-regulatory organization or securities commission are considered assets. 
  • Experience with e-discovery software such as Everlaw is an asset 
  • Experience with CRM software is an asset
